Tillie turns Three // Chicago Lifestyle Photographer

Something I love about photography is capturing the little but significant moments. There is a raw-ness to this post - it's a 3 year old's birthday morning. I wasn't hired for this shoot... just happened to be staying there and I think that makes it even better. Nothing forced. Nothing Staged. The house isn't spotless and the kids' hair uncombed.  The excitement over balloons and eating cake for breakfast can remind you that life is short and seize every moment you can. Especially with family. Especially when there are presents. Especially when your photo friend is there with her camera.

The Bobbi+Mike Experience {just for fun}

Anyone that knows me will tell you that I love to be inspired and to learn. This past week I was totally indulged in both! Bobbi+Mike are my absolute favorite photographers. Not only was their workshop incredible but it left me feeling so blessed to do something I love no matter how challenging it can be. I can't put into words everything I took away from this past week's excursion but this exchange with my fab fiance may help put it into some sort of perspective:

Bill: "So basically you are a teenage girl that was just serenaded by Justin Timberlake"

Me: "umm yes, it's pretty much the equivalent"

In addition to so much business info and "amazing-ness" we did have a shoot with the cutest couple in Indianapolis - stupid ADORABLE. I wanted to hug both of them. I didn't shoot too much as I was observing but here are a few shots:

I am so far behind on blogging! I know I have been completely M.I.A. for the past two months. I have been nutso busy finishing up wedding season and the holidays and still nailing down some last minute portrait sessions as well. I assure you... some great stuff is on its way! The Italy wedding will finally be posted, I have some beautiful babies and brides to show as well. Yeah! Happy 2011 my friends!

Hello Hello... I am headed out of town for a much needed holiday (Americans are the only ones that use vacation... I am joining the rest of the world with this word because I like it) at my family's cottage in Maine. It's going to be great but I will have limited access to my phone and internet but PLEASE still contact me if you need something! Catch you on the flip-side. XO.

I am working on some wedding posts but in the meantime enjoy baby Jack! He is just a week old and so adorable. Made a little slideshow... CLICK HERE TO SEE IT! His little cousins made some appearances too! Emma, the family dog, needed a picture too - I think she is not used to the spotlight on little Jack yet.

New Logo

So here it is...I never fully dived into how I wanted my logo to look like. I don't love the one I created in about 20 minutes so I hired an awesome Michigan graphic designer, Amanda,  to try and harness my thoughts and desires in a logo. It will soon be applied to my website, blog & cards... and everything else that has anything to do with the biz -  Drum roll please....

Darryl Carter @ Pagoda Red

I once again had the pleasure of shooting an event at Pagoda Red. Everyone who works there is so nice and they have some of the coolest pieces of furniture, works of art and accessories I have ever seen. They had a book signing and cocktail party in honor of Darryl Carter, author of "The New Traditional".

Farrow+Ball Event

I had the pleasure of shooting an event for Farrow + Ball at an amazing space called Pagoda Red here in Chicago. They had great sushi and saki party to celebrate the debut of their new bamboo wallpaper.  The space and the paper meshed together so incredibly well.

Niall + Suzy

So I wasn't the "hired" photographer at this wedding but I did sneek a few shots here and there. This was the most amazing, hospitable family ever. They really took care of us in Ireland and made our trip that much more incredible. Congrats you two!
